Gender Action Plan

Gender equality is fundamental to economic growth and stability, in all sectors, including energy. In Mongolia, USAID - US Agency for International Development is bolstering gender equality in energy governance through their partnership with Abt Associates.

Women, girls, and other marginalized populations participate in the energy sector as consumers, employees, and policymakers yet their perspectives are not always included in decision-making. Studies show that integrating these groups into all stages of the energy value chain leads to higher returns on investment, greater innovation, increased employee retention, and improved productivity and economic growth. By embedding gender equality principles across USAID's energy governance activities, we are working to create a more secure, stable, diversified, modern, and self-reliant Mongolian energy sector.
